MotoCrane Revolt status LED colors and troubleshooting
Revolt's status LED shows standby, input voltage bands, over-voltage, and Auto-On state. Most Ronin 2 power problems come down to firmware, polarity or a source above 27.5V.

1Power up
Connect power. Revolt goes to standby (strobing white). Hold the ON/OFF button on Revolt or the Ronin 2 until the Ronin 2 starts.
2Regulated sources
With a block battery, AC-3 or DC-3 the output voltage is fixed, so the LED will not fall as the battery drains. Watch voltage at the source. The Ronin app will show 101 percent.
3Check Ronin 2 firmware
Firmware 1.3.0.60 (or a reading of 0.0.0.0) is not compatible. 1.7.1.00 is recommended. 1.5.0.80, 1.2.0.50 and 1.1.0.30 also work.
4Check polarity
AC-3, DC-3 and BBR use Arri 3-pin XLR polarity: pin 1 negative, pin 2 positive. Confirm third-party gear is not Panavision polarity. The BBR has no reverse polarity protection on its input.
5Ronin 2 will not start on a 28V block
Some Ronin 2 units will not start at 27.5V or more. Use the BBR to drop a 28V source to 26VDC.
6No power from AC-3 or DC-3
The breaker likely tripped. Check the load is not shorted and is within ratings, then cycle the power switch.
| LED | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Off | No power, or reverse polarity |
| Strobing white | Standby, ready to power on |
| Solid green | On, 23.0 to 29.0V |
| Solid yellow | On, 22.0 to 23.0V |
| Solid orange | On, 21.5 to 22.0V |
| Solid red | On, 12 to 21.5V |
| Blinking red | Over-voltage, above 29.0V |
| Blue, blue, green | Auto-On enabled |
| Blue, blue, red | Auto-On disabled |
- Do not cover the AC-3 fan. Secure the AC-3 and DC-3 so they cannot slide in the vehicle.
- Medium to heavy loads, or long cable runs, need MotoCrane High Capacity 3-pin XLR cables to avoid voltage drop and heat.
