MotoCrane TITAN LT drift, calibration and gimbal lock

Two kinds of drift have their own calibrations. Gimbal lock is physics, not a fault, and LT has a setting for it.

Applies to: MotoCrane TITAN LT, MotoCrane TITAN LTB

Why is my MotoCrane TITAN LT drifting?

  1. 1Control drift

The head moves with the joystick centered. Calibrate the input module from the System page, or raise Control Deadband or adjust Pan/Tilt Trim.

  2. 2IMU drift

The head moves with joystick and wheel speed at zero. Run GYRO Calibration from the System page.

  3. 3Anything else

Contact MotoCrane Technical Support before running advanced calibrations like ACC ALIGN or IMU ALIGN.

  4. 4Gimbal lock

When two axes line up (for example roll at 90 deg, or nose mount) only two axes really stabilize and LT has to favor one axis to get through, the 'wrist flip'. For the smoothest pass, turn Gyro Stabilization off on the Tuning page.

  • LT detects underslung, Matrix Mode / nose mount and overslung and remaps controls automatically.
