MotoCrane RADICAL Specs, Manuals, Error Codes and Field Guide
Modular, travel-ready remote arm for compact cinema heads.
What it is
RADICAL is MotoCrane's modular remote arm. It breaks down into modules that pack into an optional 6-piece flight case set with every case under 70 lbs, which MotoCrane says makes it the first remote arm that can fly as checked baggage.
It mounts to cars, trucks, UTVs, boats and other platforms with TUV certified 1-1/2 inch speedrail clamps. The SSG Kit adds speedrail to a vehicle roof with suction cups.
The RADICAL Isolator is a 3-axis iso-elastic suspension (hydraulic dampers on pitch and roll, adjustable air shock on Z). Standard payload is 35 lbs, or 45 lbs with the HEAVYLIFT Upgrade Kit. The L/S Kit adds a 14 ft long mode and a 55 lb short mode.
The COMMAND Console LITE (5 inch screen, single joystick) is standard. The COMMAND Console PRO (7 inch screen, separate lift and swing sticks) is an upgrade. INS 2 Advanced Stabilization is an option for holding lift angle over terrain.

Questions
- Can the MotoCrane Update Tool update RADICAL or ULTRA?
- No. MotoCrane says the Update Tool works with products released after 2024, which means the TITAN line and its accessories. ULTRA, HYPER and RADICAL are not supported. ULTRA modules are updated with the ATMEL ICE flashloader in the ULTRA Programming Kit.
- What voltage does a MotoCrane arm need?
- RADICAL and ULTRA take 48VDC into the PSU, 45 to 60VDC max. Above 60VDC causes permanent damage. The source should deliver at least 40A peak.
- Can RADICAL fly as checked baggage?
- MotoCrane says the optional 6-piece RADICAL flight case set keeps every case under 70 lbs, so RADICAL can travel internationally as TSA-compliant checked media baggage.
